mythos

the virtual world in which I address myself and you, the other, runs on code - a subterranean language. completely hidden, it is the substructure upon which these shiny interfaces are erected.

the 'real' world in which i address myself and you, the other, runs on a code also. what we call reality is, like virtual reality, a surface. the world is the product of the language of the collective unconscious.

do matter and atoms and energy exist independent of language? this is impossible. this is a koan.

do you, the other, and I, Gavin, exist independent of language? this is impossible. this is the same koan.

just as the code is always there, incessantly running, the engine that maintains the apparent continuity of facebook, so too language and reality.

the most powerful effect of the sophistication of technology and communications is the ever more perfect analogisation or mirroring of the deep linguistic structure of reality.

this deep structure is called the mythos. it is also called 'the dreaming'.

life, it seems, is ultimately dream. if so, reality is only limited by the degree of our lucidity.

this is pretty freakin weird.
